Grade: - EGV or SO1 - £60,385 - £63,762 or £63,800 - £71,865 per annum 

The States of Guernsey are looking for a Junior Commercial Lawyer to join the Commercial Law Team.  This is a full time and permanent position.

The postholder will support members of the Law Officers' Chambers, particularly members of the Commercial Law team, in the provision of legal services to the States of Guernsey, the States of Alderney, the Chief Pleas of Sark, the Crown and other public service clients. The purpose of this role is to manage and maintain progress on a large portfolio of low to medium value matters, liaising directly with clients and providing professional advice.

The successful applicant would then have the opportunity to progress to the grade advertised once the necessary skills and knowledge have been developed and they have demonstrated the ability to undertake the duties at the higher level.

Relocation:
This role comes with a competitive salary, progressive annual leave and entitlement to a pension scheme.

For candidates who would be required to relocate to the Bailiwick of Guernsey, we also offer a relocation package to help with the cost of moving over to the Island. This relocation package offers different solutions depending on an individual’s circumstances.

This role offers off-Island candidates an 8-year Long Term Employment Permit (see details below). This permit will also enable candidates to bring immediate family members with them who will be permitted to work on the Island in any sector. There are also good schools on Island for those candidates looking to bring their families with them.
