£50,788 - £57,039 per annum

Based in Southampton, the Southampton, Fareham & Havant Legal Partnership is an outcome-focused service recognised for its dedication to improving the communities in which we live and work, ensure the local education system is stable and sustainable, and delivering professional excellence. We provide strategic and professional advice and services covering all aspects of local government law.

We currently have a vacancy for a qualified lawyer to enable the Council to meet the statutory duties to children and young people with special education needs and education generally. The postholder will also be expected to undertake more general litigation work within the Partnership.

The lawyer specialising in SEN and Education law is required to join our People and Courts team. We want you to join our dynamic and growing ream dealing with high profile and challenging legal cases covering all aspects of SEN and contentious education cases.

Required: Experienced solicitor, barrister, FCiLeX with substantial subject area experience. with strong advocacy, negotiating and advisory skills and competence with IT and case management systems. You will need an enabling, positive approach to finding solutions to complex problems and have good appreciation of risk management / the ability to work flexibly across a multi skilled team.

The Council has a fully flexible working system that includes home/hybrid working, with adaptable working hours subject to meeting our clients and court’s needs.
