We are continuing to expand our Adult Social Care legal team to meet increased demand and maintain our high standards of service. As part of this expansion, we have identified the need for a bespoke position within the ASC Legal team that is dedicated primarily to working closely with the Council's Charging and Assessment Team to recover unpaid care costs.

This exciting new role will require having conduct of a variety of straightforward and more complex debt recovery matters which relate directly to Adult Social Care and will involve consideration of issues such as deprivation of assets, the role of a financial Deputy/Lasting Power of Attorney, the enforcement of judgments and the limitations on the Council's powers to charge for meeting an individual's assessed eligible care needs.

You will already have, or will be supported to develop, a good working knowledge of relevant Adult Social Care legislation such as the Care Act 2015 and Mental Capacity Act 2005 and associated charging regulations.

This position will be subject to a basic criminal record disclosure check.
