We are seeking to recruit a full-time Education lawyer for the Adults Social Care, Employment, and Education team at HB Public Law (HBPL).
You will undertake varied, high-quality work with like-minded and supportive colleagues who are committed to public service and excellent client care.
HBPL is one of the country’s leading shared local authority legal practices between a number of Northwest London and out of London local authorities; it is Lexcel accredited, and we pride ourselves on delivering a high-quality service. Staff are employed by Harrow Council but work for several public sector clients
About You
The successful candidate will be required to carry a full caseload dealing with SEND Tribunal cases, advising and preparing responses for the Tribunal, and advising in respect of school admissions, exclusions and complaint matters, including LGSCO responses for Local authority clients and advising schools in respect of a variety of matters including exclusion matters and complaints. The candidate will also advise schools in respect of Governing Body Exclusion Panels and Independent Review Panels as well as separately advising panels from time to time.
You will be required to pick up a caseload from the outset. We will consider less experienced individuals with the right personal qualities and an excellent approach to client care who are able to grow into the role. Candidates from both the public and private sector are encouraged to apply for this position, as the practice’s current staff base is drawn from both sectors.
There may be opportunities for the right candidate to develop knowledge in the Employment and Adult work within the team
