Locum Planning Lawyer
Warrington, Cheshire (Local Authority role)
Initial 4-6 month contract
Rate: Negotiable, umbrella
We are looking to recruit a full time Planning Lawyer to our Corporate Team to cover a vacancy pending recruitment. The assignment will initially be for 4 to 6 months.
The team sits within the busy and high achieving Legal Services department. We offer a supportive environment within a friendly and progressive team with Lexcel accreditation. The post is 37 hours per week. The Council operates a flexible working policy and a hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities
- To advise on Town & Country Planning matters including advising and drafting Section 106 agreements including in relation to biodiversity net gain and bi-lateral and unilateral agreements
- Certificates of lawful use
- Attendance at local authority planning committee to advise on planning and process matters
- The ability to provide legal advice in respect of all planning matters across council departments as directed by the Legal Services Team Manager and the Director of Law and Governance
- Attendance and representation at meetings with client department and other agencies and legal representatives.
About You
- Experienced Planning Lawyer
- Local Government/Public Sector experience is essential
- Ability to attend planning committees as required is desirable
