About the role:
Waltham Forest is a progressive and innovative borough with a Legal Service to match. We are dedicated to providing the best possible legal service to our diverse client departments.
The principal areas of law within the scope of the Legal Services Team are:
Family Law – Child Protection and Adult Social Care
Commercial Law – Regeneration, Contracts and Procurement, Licensing and Property and Planning
Litigation and Public Law – Civil Litigation, Prosecutions, Housing, Employment, Education, Corporate Governance and Information
To be responsible for supporting lawyers across the Legal Services Team in relation to all areas of law within the scope of the Team’s areas of responsibility.
Whilst the role of Paralegal is a generic role within Legal Services, we are currently looking for a Paralegal to be responsible for supporting lawyers across the Family Law Team.

Key Responsibilities:
Candidates must have a high level of technical skills as all work is recorded on our case management system and the ability to work with electronic bundling software.The duties are flexible to meet the demands of the Family Team and will involve largely routine work but with the opportunity to undertake more complex work, including casework, being required as necessary.
The candidates must have excellent communication skills, be real team players with a focus on client care who are able to contribute to the effective operational management of the Legal Services team in order to deliver a high quality and cost-effective legal service.
The role demands flexibility and a commitment to undertake a wide range of duties and responsibilities, and adherence to team processes, policies and protocols both within the service and Council's business processes to ensure the efficient use of resources.
