£35,235 - £41,511 per annum

About the role
As an Area Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering a full range of building surveying services across the council’s varied non-housing property portfolio in a designated area. You will play a key role in delivering facilities management and building maintenance, including reactive and planned works, capital projects, life-cycle planning, and ensuring landlord compliance with health and safety legislation.

You will also support the wider team in achieving the Council’s corporate priorities, providing professional advice and leadership within your area of responsibility.
 
About you
You will be an enthusiastic and self-motivated building professional with a proactive, ‘can-do’ approach. You will hold a minimum of an HNC (or equivalent) in a building-related discipline and have relevant experience in building maintenance and construction.

You will also have:
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations, construction practices, and contract administration.
  • Experience managing contractors and delivering maintenance or capital works.
  • Proficiency in IT systems and asset management tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid UK driving licence (reasonable adjustments will be considered under the Equality Act).
