The RoleWe are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Legal Adviser to join our Property & Contracts Team to deal with a wide range of property matters, including:
- Sales and purchases.
- Landlord and tenant / licences.
- S38 Highway Agreements.
- Deferred Payment Agreements.
This is your chance to deal with wide ranging property matters and provide legal support to colleagues across the Council’s services and join a team of friendly and experienced lawyers.
Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.
Work StyleAt North Somerset Council we offer a hybrid working environment and this role falls into the category of Mobile/Field Worker which means you can expect to work in the following way:
- 0 -1 day in the office.
- Comes into the office for meetings or focused work and for specific tasks e.g. completions.
About YouYou will have:
- Good working knowledge and practical experience of property work.
- Experience of drafting legal documents and the ability to give clear and accurate legal advice.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work under pressure, able to prioritise your workload to meet client requirements.
- The ability to work as part of a team, be enthusiastic, self-motivated and a willingness to expand your legal knowledge and skills.
- Competent ICT skills.
You will be a graduate member of CILEx and hold a Level 6 Diploma in Law and Practice, having passed Unit 9 (Land Law), Unit 10 (Landlord and Tenant Law) and Unit 17 (Conveyancing), or a qualified solicitor.
