Locum Childcare Legal Assistant – Midlands – 3-6 months + – Predominantly Remote – Up to £30 per hour (Umbrella)

Venn group’s specialist legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Childcare Legal Assistant join a reputable Midlands based local authority.

This is a Locum position, on an initial 3–6 month basis, with a rolling contract. The role will be full-time, predominantly remote working, with once-a-fortnight attendance in office. Initial IT collection will also be in person. Ideal Candidate Requirements: Experience working as a Childcare Paralegal or Legal Assistant, preferably in a Local Authority setting.

Duties and responsibilities for this post may include:

• Assisting the Team with time sensitive court matters (e.g. bundling)
• Assisting with invoicing processes and opening files on the case management system
• Arranging meetings and making telephone calls
• Being a point of contact for the client departments
• Monitoring the general inbox and allocating matters or queries to the relevant lawyers
• Liaising with the court and other professionals
• Keeping diaries regularly and efficiently
• Keeping up to date with changes in legislation
• Establishing and maintaining good working relationships, both with clients and other members of staff.
