Job Description:

£52,194 - £55,323 per annum

An excellent opportunity has arisen within the London Borough of Redbridge for an Adults Litigation Lawyer to join the Council to provide a comprehensive and professional legal service.

You will report to the Principal Lawyer – Social Care within the Legal Department. You will also work closely with other Council departmental clients and specialist departments.

As an in-house social care lawyer, you will have the opportunity to deal with an interesting workload and advise senior clients.

Responsibilities -

  • Conduct of a full caseload of adults and community care/Care Act 2014 matters including Court of Protection and Menal Health Act.
  • Giving advice on DOLS application.
  • Defending judicial review challenges including adults, age assessment and s.17/20 Children Act challenges and leaving care.

To be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Hold a Solicitor, Barrister, FILEX or similar qualification.
  • Have extensive knowledge and experience of adult social care legislation and practice.
  • Good knowledge of local government and public sector law affecting social care and health.
  • Experience of working in a busy local authority setting.
