Locum Governance Solicitor

A Local Authority in the South East is seeking an experienced Locum Governance Solicitor to join their legal team on an interim basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to support a well-established governance function, working on a varied and interesting caseload within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Advising Members and Officers on governance, constitutional, and local government law matters
Drafting and advising on committee reports, delegations, and decision-making processes
Providing support for Council, Cabinet, and committee meetings
Advising on ethical standards, Member conduct, and related governance issues
Supporting the Monitoring Officer as required
Key Requirements:
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive
Proven experience working within a local authority governance function
Strong knowledge of local government law and constitutional matters
Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload
