Senior Lawyer - Litigation Team

Enfield (Local Authority role)

Initial 3-6 month contract

Rate: Umbrella - Negotiable

35 hours per week

• To handle a caseload of complex and/or politically sensitive legal matters with minimal supervision, ensuring that good governance arrangements are in place to support effective decision making.
• To contribute to the management and strategy of the Legal Services Team
• To contribute to ensuring that colleagues within the Legal Services team, members and officers in other areas of the Council are trained in relevant developments in law and policy and receive guidance on their implementation in a timely manner, including delivering training.     
• To advise members in public and private meetings including committees and sub-committees                                                                             
• To provide cover for others in Legal Services
