Locum Prosecutions/Civil Litigation Lawyer – 3 months + – Full Time/Part time – Hybrid Working – Up to £60 per hour – East of England

Position: Locum Prosecutions/Civil Litigation Lawyer
Organisation: East of England based Local Authority
Duration: 3 months with the possibility of extension thereafter
Working Pattern: Full Time/part time
Working Arrangement: Hybrid working
Hourly Rate: Up to £60 per hour Umbrella

The ideal candidate will have experience in handling Criminal/Prosecution matters and can demonstrate prior experience working on behalf of Local Authorities.

Duties may include:

• Attend the Magistrates Court and specialised in regulatory prosecutions
• Provide legal advice to all departments within the council, preparing cases for prosecution, and undertaking the necessary advocacy work in the Magistrates’ Court 
• Conduct a caseload of Prosecution files to include Animal Licensing, Fly Tipping, Planning Enforcement
• Progress cases to completion and dealing with correspondence
• Draft summons, indictments, case summaries and Disclosure Requests
• Attend Magistrates Court and dealing with the Court list
• Advise on two Summary Review Applications, also writing up Decision Notices
