£49,282 - £54,496 per annum
Permanent position (29 days annual leave per annum, rising to 34 days per annum after 5 years’ service)
Job reference: CSDA0210
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly self-motivated regulatory lawyer to be part of our litigation team offering legal support to colleagues across many of the council’s operations. In return we offer competitive salary, generous holiday of up to 34 days a year, and the chance to enrol in an excellent average salary pension scheme.
Primarily a home working environment with occasional attendance at the office to carry out specific tasks, for example, attend meetings/training and court hearings as required. With a focus on work/life balance and personal wellbeing, we offer flexible working, including home working with dedicated legal support. This is your chance to make a difference and join a small team of friendly and experienced lawyers.
You will need to be a confident court advocate with experience managing a wide range of cases. Experience gained in a local authority environment is desirable but not essential, as cross transferable skills and experience gained elsewhere will be considered.
You will ideally have knowledge and experience in handling a caseload of contentious regulatory matters, including civil and criminal law and will be required to provide comprehensive advice to council departments covering a wide spectrum of public services. If you enjoy variety and like diversity in your work this is the role for you.
This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
