Locum Childcare Solicitor – Welsh Local Authority (Fully Remote)

We are seeking an experienced Locum Childcare Solicitor to join a Welsh local authority on a fully remote basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled childcare law specialist to take on a rewarding role offering flexibility and a competitive rate.

Key Details:

• Start Date: Within the next 4 weeks

• Location: Fully remote (Welsh local authority)

• Duration: 3 month rolling

• Rate: Competitive (DOE)

Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor with significant experience in child protection and public law children matters

• Strong knowledge and practical application of Welsh childcare and child protection law

• Ability to manage a busy caseload of care proceedings and related matters

• Confident in advocacy and case management

• Previous local authority experience desirable

Responsibilities:

• Conducting and managing care proceedings from issue through to final hearing

• Providing legal advice and support to social services teams

• Preparing and reviewing legal documentation, statements, and evidence

• Representing the local authority in court and tribunal hearings

• Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and safeguarding best practice

This role offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to the protection and welfare of children while working with a supportive legal team in a fully remote capacity.
