Senior Paralegal/Lawyer
Interim
Rate - £265 - £290 Umbrella per day
Annual equivalent of £52k - £57.5k per annum
Central London, Hybrid-Working (3 days per week in office)
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Paralegal/Lawyer to join a Central Government team on an interim basis. This role is to work alongside other members of the legal team and report to the Senior Legal & Regulatory Affairs Officer. The legal team sits within a larger risk management team that also covers credit risk, market risk, operational risk and compliance.
Key Requirements for the Senior Paralegal/Lawyer
The ideal Candidate for the Senior Paralegal/Lawyer role will include:
- To have at least 2 years' legal/paralegal experience in either financial markets transactions or commercial contracts but other strong applicants may be considered
- A higher education degree in Law or a related subject or a qualification to practise law in England & Wales
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong legal technical and analytical skills, legal research skills and contract drafting skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Excellent organisation skills and a strong attention to detail
- The ability to produce documentation with absolute accuracy within tight deadlines
Key responsibilities for the Senior Paralegal/Lawyer
The successful Candidate for this Senior Paralegal/Lawyer role will be required to:
- To provide transactional and documentation support on a variety of matters, including financial and commercial contracts, bond listing applications, non-disclosure agreements, terms of business, know-your-customer checks, counterparty on-boarding processes and other activities
- To contribute to the further development of legal and documentation processes and procedures
- To provide ad-hoc support relating to other risk team activities, including support of gilt and Treasury bill auctions and tenders
