Planning Lawyer

Islington (Local Authority role)

Initial 3-6 month contract

Rate: Negotiable, indicate rate sought (Umbrella)

35 hours per week

Full time planning lawyer. Office attendance 1 x per week

Essential:

• A thorough knowledge of planning (contentious and non-contentious), highways, road traffic and local government law
• A Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, with at least 3 years’ post qualification experience, qualified to practice in England and Wales

Role details:

1. Drafting and negotiating section 106 unilateral undertakings and agreements, highways agreements and related matters
2. Advising on planning, highways and road traffic matters including drafting or reviewing legal implications in decision reports
3. Dealing with contentious planning matters such as judicial reviews and planning appeals
4. Attendance at planning committee meetings
