The North East Combined Authority is looking to appoint two proactive and experienced Senior Lawyers who will play key roles in the provision of high-quality legal services to the Combined Authority.

Senior Lawyer (Transport and Development)

In this role, you will act as a senior advisor for the Combined Authority in respect of:

• major transport projects (such as bus reform); and
• planning/regeneration initiatives (such as the Spatial Development Strategy and the potential creation of mayoral development zones).

Substantial post-qualification experience in planning matters is essential.

Experience of advising on transport and/or regeneration projects is also desirable.

About you:

As well as the relevant experience outlined above for each post, you will have the following experience, knowledge, skills and qualities:

• proven track record of advising senior clients on major projects or initiatives;
• detailed knowledge of local-authority decision-making processes; and
• ability to work on own initiative, manage a complex and varied caseload and to work in other legal areas if required.
