An attraction supplement may be payable, subject to skill and experience, of up to 15% of the annual gross salary for a period of up to 2 years.
We are looking for a dynamic expert in local government commercial law to join our Commercial and Information Governance Team which provides advice to the County Council, Districts Councils and to other external public bodies who engage our services. You will deal with an exciting and varied range of local authority work.
The role
The main areas of responsibility will be to draft a diverse range of contracts and procurement related documentation and provide advice at an advanced level upon all manner of agreements including funding agreements, works contracts and concessions. . Experience of, or in interest in, corporate law, and specific experience with NEC suite of contracts would be advantageous.
What we're looking for
The candidate will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with at least 3 years post qualification experience and ideally have detailed knowledge and experience of local authority contracts and procurement law. Specific local government experience is not essential, but the candidate must have experience of working in this area of law within the public sector. The candidate will also need to demonstrate good literacy and IT skills, the ability to communicate effectively and be skilled in drafting complex legal advice, letters and reports clearly and in plain English.
A strong team player is required who will be able to apply their knowledge innovatively and proactively.
