Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer – Full Time or Part Time – Hybrid Working – 3+ months – Up to £65 per hour Umbrella
 
Venn Group’s specialist legal team is currently recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer to join a Local Authority in the Midlands on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join a friendly and well-established legal team.
 
Key Details:
Role: Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer
Working Arrangement: Full Time or Part Time considered
Onsite Requirement: Weekly or fortnightly in the Midlands
Rate: Up to £65 per hour umbrella
Start: ASAP
 
Role Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality legal advice, supporting internal departments and Senior Officers on a range of complex commercial contracts, procurement, and construction agreements
• Manage a complex caseload involving the supply of goods, works and services
• Draft, review and advise bespoke and standard-form commercial agreements
• Advise on public procurement legislation, the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, subsidy control and all other relevant legislation
• Identify and advise on legal and commercial risk, protecting Council interests
• Provide wider legal advice to council departments as required

 
Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive (or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience
• Strong knowledge of commercial and procurement matters within a Local Authority setting
• Strong stakeholder management skills, wit experience advising Senior Officers, Members and corporate leadership teams
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
