Locum Employment Lawyer – South West – 12 Months – Hybrid Working – £60  Umbrella

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are thrilled to be recruiting for a Locum Employment Lawyer to join a reputable Local Authority based in the South West of England. 

This assignment is offered on a full time basis for an attractive 12 month term, subject to potential extension thereafter. Hybrid working is required, with the successful candidate expected to attend the office and Employment Tribunals on a regular basis. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister with previous Employment Law experience to become a part of a well-established public sector organisation. 

Daily duties may include:

• Conduct a high standard of Employment work and have TUPE knowledge 

• Providing advice to Senior Managers in Council departments and other Officers and staff in HR on a wide range of employment law issues and claims made against the Authority

• Have a very good client working relationship, with the ability to pick up complex work

• Undertaking both contentious and non-contentious employment respondent work

• Conducting a caseload which may include claims relating to Sex discrimination, Race Discrimination, Unfair Dismissal, Constructive Dismissal, Disability Discrimination, Age Discrimination and Redundancy

A rate of up to £60 per hour umbrella is offered for this position. Candidates will be considered on a case by case basis, and the hourly rate shown will be dependent upon levels of experience – there may be a degree of flexibility for the right candidate.
