We are working with a local authority in Greater Manchester in search for a Locum Employment Lawyer whilst the team recruits permanently.
 
The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor, barrister or CILEx lawyer with a current practising certificate. This is a stand-alone Employment Lawyer post, so candidates must be confident at handling employment matters with minimal supervision.
 
The majority of hearings are carried out remotely.
 
Current Caseload: Employment tribunal claims with a number of them at early conciliation, a mix of general advice regarding employee relation matters, settlement agreements, restructure/TUPE, policy advice
Start: ASAP
Duration: Initially until 31/12/2026, with likely extension
Working Arrangement: 30-35 hours per week, ideally hybrid but will consider fully remote options
Rate: £60 per hour, umbrella
