Locum Childcare & Immigration Lawyer - 3 Months+ - Full Time - Up to £60 per Hour Umbrella – Midlands Position: Locum Childcare & Immigration Lawyer
Organisation: Midlands based Local Authority
Duration: 3 months with the possibility of extension thereafter
Working Pattern: Full Time
Working Arrangement: Remote working, however, attendance at Court when required would be advantageous
Hourly Rate: Up to £60 per hour Umbrella
Duties may include:- Managing a varied caseload of Childcare and Immigration matters on behalf of the Local Authority
- Conducting care proceedings, emergency applications, and obtaining Emergency Protection Orders where required
- Undertaking Public Law Outline (PLO) work, including initial PLO meetings and reviews
- Advising Children's Services on safeguarding, child protection, and wider social care matters
- Providing immigration advice in relation to unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, age assessments, nationality and citizenship matters, and human rights issues
- Advising on deprivation of liberty matters involving children and young people with disabilities
- Representing the Local Authority and liaising with Counsel, Courts, and external stakeholders as required
The ideal candidate will have experience handling both Childcare and Immigration matters, preferably within a Local Authority environment.
