Locum Construction Lawyer – Initial 3+ months – Remote Working – Up to £65 per hour umbrella
 
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with a Local Authority to recruit for a Locum Construction Lawyer. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Construction Lawyer to join a well-regarded legal team.
 
The Role:
Working Arrangement: Full Time or Part-time applicants considered
Duration: Initial 3 months with the possibility for extension
Rate: Up to £65 per hour – potential to be Outside IR35
 
Role Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality legal advice to the Council on a range of construction and commercial agreements
• Draft, review, and negotiate a range of agreements including JCT, NEC and other standard-form contracts
• Draft bespoke agreements, framework agreements, professional appointments, and other related agreements
• Work closely with project managers, procurement, and other Council officers to provide practical and commercially focused legal advice
• Support on wider commercial matters on behalf of the Council when required

 
 
Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive (or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience in Commercial Law
• Experience of construction contracts is essential
• Knowledge of local government law is desirable
