Position: Locum Civil Litigation Lawyer
Organisation: Midlands based Local Authority
Duration: 3-6 months +
Working Hours: Ideally Full Time, may consider 4 days for the right candidate
Working Arrangement: Predominantly Remote Working with occasional Court Attendance required
Hourly Rate: £55 per hour Umbrella dependent on experience
 
We are seeking an experienced professional with a solid background in Civil Litigation Law, ideally gained within a Local Authority or Private Practice background. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload, with a particular advantage for those bringing knowledge of Property Litigation.
 
Duties may include:
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal agreements
• Manage a varied caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters, including debt recovery proceedings, from pre-action through to trial and enforcement
• Undertake property litigation work, including landlord and tenant disputes, forfeiture claims, trespass and encroachment matters, dilapidations, possession claims, and related proceedings
• Ensure compliance with the Civil Procedure Rules and relevant Pre-Action Protocols
• Provide legal advice on dispute resolution strategies and litigation risk management
• Ensure compliance with GDPR by overseeing data protection policies and practices
• Represent the Council in Court and conduct advocacy where appropriate, primarily through remote hearings with some Court attendance required
