Position: Locum Childcare Lawyer
Organisation: West Midlands Local Authority
Duration: 3 Month Rolling Contract
Working Pattern: Full Time, predominately remote working
Rate: Up to £60 per hour Umbrella
Start: Approximately 2 weeks following interview
 
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Locum Childcare Lawyer to join a well-established Local Authority in the West Midlands. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of public childcare matters and undertake regular advocacy on behalf of the Council.
 
Duties may include:
• Managing a caseload of childcare matters, including PLOs, pre-proceedings and care proceedings
• Providing specialist childcare law advice to client departments
• Undertaking advocacy and representing the Council in Family Court proceedings
• Advising on complex public law litigation matters relating to the protection of children
 
Working Arrangements:
• Predominantly remote working
• Family Court attendance in Birmingham approximately 1-2 times per week
• Office attendance once per fortnight (Fridays), with flexibility where court attendance has already taken place
• Full-time position, 5 days per week, however, 9-day fortnight scheme available

• Dedicated legal assistant support provided
