Are you looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Solicitor to join our Legal Services Team.

About Us:
Rushcliffe Borough Council provides high quality services to more than 110,000 residents in a borough made up of vibrant towns and stunning villages. Our Council offices are located in West Bridgford, Nottingham in our purpose-built office and leisure centre facility, Rushcliffe Arena.

The Role:
You will work within a small and friendly in-house legal team providing advice and support across the Council. The key function of this role is to deal with non-contentious aspects of local government law, including contract, procurement, planning, and property related matters. You will work closely with clients across the Council including senior officers on some challenging and exciting projects and will play a pivotal role in helping us implement decisions which shape the future of Rushcliffe Borough Council.

Why Join Us?
We work in a friendly and supportive environment where everyone feels valued and appreciated. We can offer a variety of job-specific training both internally and externally to help our team members grow both personally and professionally.

Benefits of working for Rushcliffe Borough Council include:
  • Hybrid working
  • Reduced membership of the onsite leisure centre
  • Free car parking at our purpose built offices
  • Rushcliffe Rewards - save money across a range of retailers and leisure providers
  • Generous annual leave entitlement starting on 26 days increasing in line with service to 35 days excluding bank holidays
  • Opportunities to buy and sell leave
  • An opportunity to further your career with a high performing, forward looking Council with training to support CPD and personal development
  • Local Government pension scheme
  • A range of salary sacrifice schemes
Who We're Looking For:
We are looking for an experienced solicitor who is ready to take on a new challenge and make a difference. Previous local government experience is not essential, as training can be provided. If you have a keen interest working in the public sector with a willingness to learn new areas of law and are eager to contribute to the success of our Council, we are keen to hear from you.

Rushcliffe Borough Council supports flexible and part time working in line with the needs of the public that we serve and the business needs of the Council. We believe that embracing flexibility is a smart way of working and ensures we can find and support the mix of talent and experience we need.  We are open to a chat about flexible working and part time hours may be considered when you apply for a job with us.
