Job Description:

Locum Employment Lawyer – 3 months + – Full time (minimum 4 days) – Remote Working – Up to £65 per hour Umbrella – ASAP START

Position: Locum Employment Lawyer
Organisation: Midlands based Local Authority
Duration: 3 months with the possibility of extension thereafter
Working Pattern: Full time (4-5 days per week / 30-37 hours)
Working Arrangement: Remote working
Hourly Rate: Up to £65 per hour Umbrella
Start: ASAP

The ideal candidate will have at experience in contentious/non contentious Employment matters in Local Authority.

Duties may include:
  • Provide legal advice and services to client organisations and schools on a wide range of litigation matters comprising mainly of employment and education matters and other areas of legal practice where necessary to ensure client compliance with statutory duties and obligations and to protect the best interests of the client organisations
  • Conduct of Employment Tribunal claims (including unfair dismissal and whistleblowing claims) from their outset and through the Tribunal process
  • Advise on and negotiate successful settlement agreements, including those relating to senior individuals
  • Provide high quality, innovative, well researched and comprehensive specialist legal advice to clients (including elected members and senior officers), on a range of matters, including complex ones, and delivering advice within the timescales required by the client.
 
For this role, candidates must be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive (with Litigation rights)
