Job Description:

Interim Conmercial Lawyer – East Anglia– Initial 3-6 Months+ - Remote Working – Up to £75 per hour Umbrella

 
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with a East Anglia based Authority to recruit an Interim Conmercial Lawyer. The successful candidate will require a background in a Local Government setting.
 
The Role:
Working Arrangement: Full Time, remote working
Duration: Initial 3-6 months with likely extension thereafter
Rate: Up to £75 per hour Umbrella
Role Responsibilities:
  • You’ll be the primary legal contact for colleagues and stakeholders on a wide range of commercial matters.
  • A key part of your role will involve advising on complex contractual arrangements and supporting the delivery of strategic initiatives.
  • Drafting and reviewing grant funding agreements, terms and conditions, and memorandum of understanding (MOUs) from central government.
  • Working closely with the Procurement team to develop working practices, policies and procedures with regards to procurement law.
  • Supporting the Procurement Team in the procurement of goods, works and services – providing timely legal advice on procurement law
 
Candidate Requirements:
  1. Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive (or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience in Commercial law
  2. Proven experience managing legal teams within a Local Authority legal service is essential, including responsibility for performance, development and operational delivery
  3. Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience advising senior Officers, Members and corporate leadership teams
  4. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment whilst managing competing priorities
