A large northern local authority is seeking a locum Governance Lawyer to assist the Monitoring Officer and Deputy Monitoring Officer with governance matters. This is a locum role for at least 3 months, with a view to extend.
The work may include a range of governance-related matters such as dealing with member complaints and queries, advising on the constitution and providing legal advice around lawful decision-making and good governance.
Prior experience of local authority governance is required, ideally from a large or unitary council.
Part-time and full-time applicants are encouraged to apply.
The role can be worked fully remotely.
