Locum Senior Contracts Lawyer – Full Time – Fully Remote – Initial 3 Months+ – Up to £60 per hour Umbrella
Venn Group's specialist Public Sector Legal team are currently recruiting for an experienced Locum Senior Contracts Lawyer to join a London based Local Authority on an interim basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial lawyer to advise on a broad range of complex contracts, construction matters and procurement-related work within an established public sector legal team.

Role Details:
Position: Locum Senior Contracts Lawyer
Working Arrangement: Full Time, fully remote working
Duration: Initial 3 months+, with potential for extension
Rate: Up to £60 per hour Umbrella
Duties may include:

• Providing high-level legal advice on commercial, construction and procurement matters
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex contracts and agreements
• Advising extensively on JCT and NEC contracts, including drafting, negotiation and interpretation
• Providing advice on procurement law, contractual risk and dispute resolution
• Supporting major capital projects, construction programmes and strategic initiatives
• Advising on contractual issues arising throughout the lifecycle of projects
• Working closely with senior officers, contractors, consultants and external partners
• Providing clear and pragmatic advice on complex commercial and contractual matters

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with significant commercial contracts experience
• Strong experience advising on construction and public sector contracts
• Extensive experience working with JCT and NEC contracts
• Good knowledge of procurement law and contractual risk
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills
• Experience supporting major capital or construction projects
• Previous Local Government or wider Public Sector experience is highly desirable
• Ability to manage complex matters independently and provide confident advice to senior stakeholders
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
