Our national Real Estate team provides a comprehensive range of legal and advisory services across the commercial and residential property sectors. We act for a diverse client base including national and regional developers, social housing providers, retailers, public bodies, infrastructure providers and private landowners.

We advise on a wide range of real estate matters, including acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant work, property management, plot sales, development projects and strategic land transactions. Our work encompasses the negotiation and drafting of heads of terms, leases, conditional contracts, option and promotion agreements, as well as advising on associated planning, construction and infrastructure issues.

Our lawyers support clients on a variety of projects, ranging from day-to-day estate management, landlord and tenant matters and plot sales transactions through to complex, multi-million-pound acquisitions, disposals and development schemes. Working across a range of sectors, we deliver practical commercial advice tailored to our clients' business objectives.

The successful candidate will support the Liverpool team on a broad range of real estate matters, with a particular focus on plot sales work for national housebuilders and developers, while also gaining experience of landlord and tenant matters, property management, acquisitions and disposals, and wider commercial real estate transactions for clients across the public and private sectors.

We are currently recruiting for a Paralegal to provide assistance to senior case handlers in the Real Estate team in Liverpool.

Your key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the case handlers and the wider practice with their caseloads of Real Estate work
  • Manage own caseload of plot sales and other routine real estate matters under appropriate supervision
  • Respond promptly and accurately to correspondence and telephone enquiries from clients with and without supervision
  • Perform case handling and administrative tasks such as opening and closing files, sorting incoming and outgoing mail, dealing with routine documentation etc.
  • Assist with the progression of files and updating clients
  • Complete MI procedures as and when required
  • Achieve set financial and chargeable targets
  • Ensure relevant deadlines, quality measures and KIPS are adhered to
  • Comply with relevant policies and procedures
  • Work in accordance with Weightmans’ values

About You

Ideally you will have previous experience as a Paralegal and a genuine and demonstrable interest in the above area of work. As the role is varied, we are looking for you to have a flexible approach to the work you do and be able to adapt to different tasks. We also require you to have:
  • Real Estate experience preferred but not essential
  • Currently or previously a paralegal
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work to deadlines and targets
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Flexible approach
