Locum Senior Commercial Property Lawyer – Full Time – Initial 3 Months+ – Predominantly Remote – Up to £55 per hour Umbrella
Venn Group's specialist Public Sector Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Senior Commercial Property Lawyer to join a Local Authority on an interim basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Property Lawyer to undertake a senior role within an established legal team, providing high-level property advice while supporting the management and development of other legal staff.
Role Details:
Position: Locum Senior Commercial Property Lawyer
Working Arrangement: Full Time, 36 hours per week. Predominantly remote working with office attendance approximately once per week or month, subject to service requirements
Duration: Initial 3 months+, with potential for extension
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: Up to £55 per hour Umbrella
Duties may include:

• Providing high-level legal advice across a broad range of commercial property matters
• Advising internal clients, senior officers and external public-sector organisations
• Supervising Property Lawyers and other members of the legal team
• Allocating work and overseeing the quality and delivery of the team's caseload
• Providing guidance and technical support on complex property matters
• Supporting the professional development of legal staff
• Managing a busy personal and team caseload effectively
• Building strong working relationships with senior stakeholders and client departments
• Supporting the effective performance and delivery of the wider Property team

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with significant commercial property experience
• Previous Local Government or wider Public Sector experience would be highly advantageous
• Strong experience providing complex written and oral property advice
• Experience supervising lawyers or managing a legal team
• Ability to allocate work, monitor performance and manage competing priorities
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and provide confident advice to senior officers and clients
