About the Scrutiny Business Manager role:
Start: As soon as possible
Hours: Full-time
Duration: Until March 2027
Location: Attendance preferred, with flexibility
Rate: ££ negotiable
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and providing strategic direction to the Democratic Services function.
- Leading a team supporting the Council's scrutiny and select committees.
- Advising Members and officers on scrutiny matters, processes and procedures.
- Supporting the development and delivery of scrutiny inquiries.
- Coordinating research and preparing reports, briefing papers and other committee documentation.
- Coordinating task groups established by the select committees.
- Providing advice and guidance to Members throughout the scrutiny process.
- Contributing to training and development for committee Members and officers.
- Providing leadership and strategic direction across Democratic Services.
The suitable candidate will be someone with strong experience in democratic services, scrutiny or local government, who can confidently advise elected Members and senior officers.
