Locum Highways Lawyer – Full Time – Remote Working Available – Up to £70 per Hour Umbrella
 
Venn Group's specialist legal team is currently recruiting for a Locum Highways Lawyer to join a Local Authority in the East Midlands on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and experienced legal team, undertaking a varied highways caseload with remote working available.
 
The Role
Position: Locum Highways Lawyer
Working Arrangement: Full Time, remote working available
Location: East Midlands
Rate: Up to £70 per hour umbrella
Start: ASAP
 
Key Responsibilities

• Advising on a broad range of highways and public rights of way matters
• Drafting and negotiating highways agreements, including Section 38 and Section 278 Agreements
• Providing legal advice on highway adoption, stopping up and traffic regulation matters
• Advising on the highways aspects of planning and development projects
• Managing a varied caseload and advising officers and senior stakeholders across the Authority

 
Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive (or equivalent) with experience in Highways Law
• Previous Local Government experience is highly desirable
• Experience drafting and advising on Section 38 and Section 278 Agreements
• Experience advising on general planning law would be advantageous
• Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to manage a busy caseload independently and work effectively within a collaborative legal team
