Job Description:

£69,966 per annum full time (pro rata for part time)

Following the recent Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) for Oxfordshire announcement this is an exciting time to join the Law, Governance and Strategy Directorate as we work towards the formation of a new unitary authority for Greater Oxford. LGR brings a range of exciting opportunities within Oxfordshire, so now is the ideal time to join a growing, ambitious service at the heart of Oxford City Council.

We are looking for an experienced senior lawyer to undertake a wide range of work within the Litigation and Regulatory Team, whilst delivering at pace, and ensuring the Council’s strategic aims and objectives are met.

You will have the ability to handle complex litigation work and be able to provide high quality complex legal and procedural advice to elected members, agents and other internal and external stakeholders to support the Council in achieving its ambitions

You will also be a proactive and robust team player, be flexible in approach and willing to get involved in all areas of the service’s work. In addition, we are looking for a creative thinker that can influence and drive progress and who is keen to play a key role in helping the service to develop and improve.

If you feel you meet this criteria and can demonstrate as such in your application, have a passion for the work and a commitment to providing excellent customer service and, are motivated by working for an inclusive and diverse organisation that is determined in its ambition to build ‘a world class city for everyone’, ensuring ‘excellent public services are at the heart of everything we do’, then we would love to hear from you.
