Locum Commercial Property Solicitor

Excellent rates of pay

My client is a local authority in the East Midlands that is seeking a property law specialist to join their in-house legal services team on an interim basis. This role provides a lot of autonomy and is suitable for property solicitors with considerable experience and confidence in their chosen area of the law.

The current vacancy lies within the Legal Services Team and is for a lawyer specialising in commercial property transactions. You will be directly involved in varied and high-quality commercial property work. The work is incredibly varied. The postholder will be expected to carry out a range of property-related transactions, including drafting medium to high complexity property documents, including undertaking bespoke drafting

Applicants must be adaptable and self-motivated lawyers for this role, with experience in commercial property work. Transactions may include:

  • Sale and purchase of commercial buildings.
  • Sale and purchase of land for development including development agreements, options and overage.
  • Agreements for lease and leases of whole and part of commercial properties
  • Bespoke transfers of public open space
  • Wayleaves and Easements over multiple titles
  • Undertaking Land Registry searches and producing reports on complex titles.
  • Completing SDLT returns for client approval
  • Dealing with complex Land Registry applications

You will be a qualified Solicitor/Barrister/FILEX with a current Practising Certificate. Previous local government experience is preferred, but candidates with private practice or in-house experience will also be considered. This will suit a proactive solicitor who has a can-do attitude.

For more information, or an informal discussion, please contact Kate Jasper in our Manchester office, or apply today!
