Position: Locum Prosecutions Lawyer
Organisation: East of England based Local Authority
Duration: 3-6 months with the possibility of extension thereafter
Working Pattern: Full time
Working Arrangement: Remote working
Hourly Rate: Up to £65 per hour Umbrella

The ideal candidate will have at experience in handling Prosecution matters in Local Authority.

Duties may include:

• Manage a diverse litigation caseload including Environmental Protection, Housing Act 2004, Anti-Social Behaviour, Animal Welfare, and Community Protection Notice appeals
• Provide clear and timely legal advice to officers on investigations, statutory powers, PACE interviews, evidence gathering and lines of enquiry
• Draft summonses, legal applications, and prosecution documents in line with the Code for Crown Prosecutors
• Prepare and manage a caseload of prosecutions in the Magistrates’ Court from investigation through to listing
• Liaise with Counsel, drafting structured briefs to ensure focused and effective advice
