Locum Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer  – 3 months + – Full/Part Time – Predominantly Remote Working – Up to £65 per hour Umbrella – Midlands

Position: Locum Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer
Organisation: Midlands based Local Authority
Duration: 3 months with the possibility of extension thereafter
Working Pattern: Full or Part Time hours can be considered
Working Arrangement: Remote working (occasional attendance appreciated)
Hourly Rate: Up to £65 per hour Umbrella
The ideal candidate will have at experience in handling Adult Social Care & Inquest matters in Local Authority.


Duties may include:

• Advise at a strategic level including the Adult Safeguarding Board and No Recourse to Public Funds Panel
• Provide training in-house on all aspects of adult social care law
• Appear in the Magistrates Court, County Court and the Court of Protection and frequently defend applications for judicial review on behalf of Local Authorities
• Community Care: Ordinary residence, assessments and the provision of support plans, application of statutory guidance, continuing health care, Mental Capacity Act 2005, deprivation of liberty safeguards (DoLs), adult safeguarding, Mental Health: Detention, aftercare, guardianship, Tribunal and displacement proceedings
