Inquests and Claims Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Inquests and Claims Manager to join a busy Clinical Legal Services team within a large NHS organisation on an interim basis.

This pivotal role will lead the management of coronial inquests and non-clinical claims, acting as the key liaison with the Coroner's Office and supporting staff throughout the inquest process. You'll also oversee investigations, manage claims in line with NHS Resolution requirements, identify learning from cases, and provide reports and advice to senior leaders to help improve patient safety and reduce organisational risk.

About you

  • You will be a qualified Solicitor, CILEX Associate/Graduate, or hold an equivalent legal qualification, with significant experience managing inquests and personal injury or claims processes, ideally within the NHS.
  • You'll have a sound understanding of coronial law, excellent analytical and report-writing skills, and the confidence to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, resilience and the ability to manage sensitive, complex cases are essential.
