Job Description:

Employment Lawyer | Local Authority | Remote | 3-6 Month Contract+

We're currently working with a well established Local Authority seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join their legal team on an initial 3-6 month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension.

This is an excellent opportunity for an interim lawyer looking for a fully remote assignment within local government. You'll join a busy, supportive legal team, advising on a varied employment law caseload and working closely with HR and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a full employment law caseload from instruction through to conclusion.
  • Advising on disciplinary, grievance, capability and dismissal matters.
  • Advising on TUPE, redundancy, restructuring and organisational change.
  • Providing advice on discrimination, equality and whistleblowing matters.
  • Delivering pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to internal clients.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive.
  • Demonstrable employment law experience.
  • Previous experience in Local Authority or the wider public sector is highly desirable.
  • Available to start at short notice is advantageous.

Contract Details

  • Initial 3-6 month contract
  • Strong likelihood of extension
  • 100% remote working
  • Full-time preferred, with flexibility considered
