Locum Senior Information Governance Officer – Full-Time – Remote Working – 3 Month Initial Contract – Up to £45 per hour umbrella  
 
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Senior Information Governance Officer to join a Local Authority on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Information Governance professional to join a friendly and welcoming team.
 
The Role: Locum Senior Information Governance Officer
Duration: Initial 3 months with potential extensions thereafter
Working Pattern: Full Time, Remote working
Rate: Up to £45 per hour umbrella
Start: ASAP start date
 
Role Responsibilities:

• Support on policies relating to Data Protection, Freedom of Information, ICT Security, Local Government Transparency Code and Records Management
• Provide specialised knowledge, guidance, and advice on relevant information governance areas, such as Data Protection and Freedom of Information
• Identify, manage, coordinate, and deliver projects to ensure the effective implementation of Information Governance across the Council

• Deliver training to various departments on best practice
• Maintain records of non-compliance and “near misses” associated with Information governance, and lead on the mitigation measures to ensure the risk of reoccurrence is minimised
• Support junior team members and ensure their continued professional development

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience working within Information Governance, ideally within Local Government or the public sector
• Strong working knowledge of Data Protection legislation, FOI and SAR processes
• Experience advising on DPIAs, ROPA and information risk management frameworks
• Ability to provide clear, practical advice and manage a varied workload independently
