£116,502.11 - £121,679.98 per annum

Job Overview

The Criminal Division is seeking to appoint a Legal Adviser Band 2 to its criminal courts team to review, advise and prosecute criminal and regulatory legal matters. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Jersey Advocate or Jersey Ecrivain, Guernsey Advocate, or a Solicitor/Barrister/Advocate in England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, with experience of appearing in the Magistrate’s and Royal Court or an equivalent court. You must also be able to provide high quality detailed written advice and legal guidance to stakeholders including the police and regulatory bodies, across the range of work handled by the unit. The role will also include the supervision of legal advisers, assistant legal advisers, paralegals, through support and guidance as appropriate. 

The work will be interesting, challenging and varied, working with different government agencies both in Jersey and internationally. You will have the support of a friendly, inclusive, and highly professional team at the Law Officers’ Department, under the leadership of the Attorney General.
