Locum Commercial & Procurement Lawyer – Full Time – September Start – Remote Working – Up to £60 per hour umbrella

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer to a Local Authority on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support a friendly and busy legal team, with flexible working arrangements.

The Role:

Position: Locum Commercial Contracts & Procurement Lawyer

Working Arrangement: Full Time, remote working with first day attendance to collect equipment

Rate: Up to £60 per hour umbrella

Start: September 2026

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dealing with a variety of ICT contracts to include Microsoft licences, mobile and voice data and telephony services all called off under CCS framework agreements
  • Drafted a bespoke contract (based on model services contract from central government) for a muti million-pound procurement of a housing and asset management system
  • Updating a number of the Legal Department’s templates
  • Legal work on a specialist framework for professional services with 8 Lots with different disciplines
  • JCT MW contracts with schedule of amendments prepared for car park works and Town Hall wi-fi upgrades
  • Contract for various electrical testing services for the Authority’s housing stock
  • Procurement of water hygiene and testing services called-off under the ESPO framework agreement -Water System Risk Assessment and Water Hygiene Monitoring Services

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive (or equivalent) with experience of Commercial and procurement Law
  • Experience working within Local Government or the Public Sector is desirable
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders and teams
