Locum Housing Lawyer

3-6 months

£55-65 umbrella

Sellick Partnership are recruiting for a qualified Housing Lawyer to join a reputable local authority Housing Litigation team. This role will focus on delivering high-quality, pragmatic legal advice and assistance across a varied housing caseload, supporting the Council's strategic objectives and ensuring compliant, efficient service delivery.

The successful candidate will work closely with council officers providing clear, solution-focused guidance and advice on a range of Housing matters while managing their own caseload and undertaking advocacy where appropriate.

The ideal candidate will have good experience in housing law (particularly Housing Disrepair, possessions and Anti-Social Behaviour work), good advocacy and communication skills, the ability to handle a large and varied caseload of Housing Law matters, be conscientious and pro-active and work without constant supervision.

The role is hybrid, ideally to include office attendance at least once per fortnight on a Monday (Monday is the team work in the office today and it is also the possession list day at the county court) and be able and willing to attend both the county court and magistrates court to undertake advocacy as and when required by the Team Principal.
