SEN Tribunal Officer /Education Lawyer

North West

Sellick Partnership are proud to be recruiting for a SEN tribunal officer/ Education Lawyer to join a well respected local authority in the North West on a locum basis 6 months, with a likihood of it being extended beyond that. This role is to manage a backlog of SEN tribunals so experience in tribunals is preferred.

The authority have seen a huge rise in SEN work, so someone with experience in SEN matters that would be able to hit the ground running is desirable. Responsibilities of the SEN tribunal officer/ Education Lawyer are including but not limited to:

  • Managing a caseload of complex cases, comprising mainly SEN admission appeals, with minimum supervision
  • Independently fulfil all functions involved with SEND First-tier Tribunals
  • Representing the Local Authority at hearings
  • You must be able to handle a substantial caseload, often working to strict deadlines and on short notice

The successful SEN tribunal officer/ Education Lawyer will ideally be able to undertake this role on a full-time basis, however candidates seeking a part-time working pattern will be considered.
