Based in Southampton, the Southampton, Fareham and Havant Services Partnership is an outcome-focused service recognised for its dedication to improving the communities in which we live and work and delivering professional excellence. We provide strategic and professional advice and services covering all aspects of local government law.

We currently have vacancies for x2 lawyers working in the Governance & Information team. Fast-paced and part of a highly performing Partnership, these posts require someone with enthusiasm and dynamism to handle Governance and Information preparations for Local Government Re-Organisation (LGR) and advice on a wide-ranging caseload of Corporate Governance and Information law. There is also a more generalist nature to the role so you will also be required to work flexibly across teams delivering legal support to a range of Council clients.

The Council has a fully flexible working system that includes home/hybrid working, with adaptable working hours subject to meeting our clients’ needs. The current salary is up to £58,865 plus benefits at Grade 11.

To be successful you will be a practicing Lawyer (appointed at Grade 10), Solicitor or Barrister (appointed at grade 11) with 3+ years Post-Qualified Experience together with strong written and advisory skills and competence with IT and case management systems. In addition, you will have experience of working within a highly political context and an enabling, positive approach to finding solutions to complex problems as well as a good appreciation of risk management. You will be required to work flexibly across multiple sites and from home, as part of a positive, multi skilled team supporting colleagues across all of our services.

If you feel you have the necessary background, experience and skills to undertake either of these roles we would like to hear from you. For further information about this role please view the relevant job descriptions on our website.
