Locum Planning Lawyer – 10-15 hours per week – Midlands – Remote Working – Initial 3 Month Contract – Up to £65 per hour Umbrella

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Planning Lawyer to join a Midlands based Local Authority on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Planning Lawyer to join a supportive Local Authority legal team.

The Role:
Duration: Initial 3 months with likely ongoing contract thereafter
Working Pattern: Part Time, 10-15 hours per week with fully remote working, occasional attendance at monthly planning committees would be preferable but non-essential.
Rate: Up to £60 per hour Umbrella dependent on experience
Start: ASAP start preferred

Role Responsibilities:
• Managing a varied caseload of planning law matters
• Drafting and negotiating Section 106 Agreements
• Advising on Certificates of Lawfulness
• Handling planning enforcement matters
• Providing general planning law advice to officers and stakeholders

Candidate Requirements:
• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with prior Local Authority Planning Law experience
• Strong experience handling Section 106 Agreements and planning enforcement matters
• Ability to independently manage a varied planning caseload
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
