Interim Director of Legal

6 months plus

£1000- £1200 umbrella day rate

We are currently supporting a well-respected local authority in the South West with the appointment of an experienced Interim Director of Legal.

This is an initial 6-month interim role, with the potential to extend while the authority completes its permanent recruitment process. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the successful candidate will provide senior leadership across a broad corporate services remit, including:

⚫ Legal Services

⚫ Democratic and Member services

⚫ Elections, Registrars and Coroner services

⚫ Information Governance

⚫ Scrutiny, policy and committee support

⚫ Executive Office, complaints and business support

This is a key leadership role for someone with strong local authority experience, sound political awareness and the ability to provide confident advice at senior officer and member level.
