Job Description:

 

A Local authority in the East of England seeking an experienced Data Protection & Governance professional for a 6-month contract, full-time (5 days per week), supporting preparations for Local Government Reorganisation (LGR).

Key responsibilities include:
• Managing FOI, EIR and DSAR requests, including compliance monitoring and exemption advice
• Reviewing DPIAs, data sharing agreements, policies and procedures
• Supporting DPO meetings and governance reporting
• Leading paper data cleansing exercises across services
• Reviewing and updating ROPAs and privacy notices
• Assisting with data asset registers and data strategy development
• Supporting data maturity assessments and wider transformation work

Ideal candidates will have strong local government data governance experience and be comfortable working onsite as required.
